Today, the National Health Service turns 65. Over the 65 years it has continually grown, evolved and improved to become a source of national pride and a service envied around the world. This growth and evolution is continuing at present as it undergoes the biggest organisational change in its history so that it can improve its service to meet the population’s current and future health and care needs.
This 65th anniversary also provides an opportunity to reflect on and to celebrate the values, expertise and innovation that will enable the service to respond to the challenges ahead. Innovation in the delivery of health and care services is at the heart of the HSCVF. The Fund is designed so that voluntary sector organisations can work alongside the NHS and other statutory services to offer a more effective way of dealing with individuals’ health and care needs.
To mark the anniversary, we've asked our HSCVF projects to highlight some of the work that they are doing with health services to help keep England healthy. You can read them by clicking here.
