The fund helps small and medium sized VCSEs plan their longer-term input to delivery of services within their local community. A total of £550,000 has been offered to 43 successful local VCSEs in this financial year.

Interest in the fund far exceeded the amount of local grant funding available with a total of 232 applications to the fund from across all English regions.

Successful applicants to this highly competitive fund have proven their ability to deliver local health and social care projects alongside statutory agencies, and are addressing health inequalities and supporting social care delivery through volunteering. The fund helps small and medium sized VCSEs plan their longer-term input to delivery of services within their local community.

At a local level the fund offers:

  • a maximum of £35k to each organisation for a grant period of up to 3 years, and
  • a package of support designed to build organisational capacity.
